HOW MANY LESSONS WOULD I NEED?

HOW MANY LESSONS WOULD I NEED?

WE always recommend at least 3 lessons to have the skills, technique, safety to handle your self in the ocean and confidence to continue on surfing successfully into the future.

Surfing is one of those activities where the more you put in the more you get.  it is also unfortunately definitely not as easy as it looks! Often quite a steep learning curve and challengE.

FIRST lesson!
In THE first lesson it's all about nailing the correct technique, learning how to safely handle yourself and your surfboard in the ocean. wE THEN GET INTO catching your first wave and discovering how much fun surfing is! Its all about having fin in the ocean and doing it safely.

YOUR SECOND lesson!
For most surfers THE SECOND LESSON is generally where you get all the reward frOM thE hard work in THE FIRST LESSON. In THE SECOND lesson I find surfers BEGIN TO FAMILIARISE THEMSELVES WITH the location, their equipment and me AS THEIR COACH, so they are able to COMBINE All the skills GAINED in lesson one AND TURN IT INTO some great fun surfing.   Furthermore, we work on more advanced skills from nailing ultra fast pop ups, riding long waves, fast paddling out and even turning on waves.

YOUR THIRD AND FINAL LESSON!
In YOUR THIRD lesson confidence and excitement is high and WE aim to perfect any bad habits that mAY START DEVELOPING in your technique. WE ALSO FOCUS ON turning both forehand and backhand to give you ultimate control AND advanced skills, unbroken wave take off techniques and paddling out the back to THE bigger waves if you’re feeling uP FOR A CHALLENGE.  the possibilities are endless.  The aim after a THIRD lesson IS to be able to continue on surfing with passion,  safety and A great skill set TO TAKE into the future FOR MANY SURFING YEARS TO COME!

WHAT EQUIPMENT IS INCLUDED and where can i find you?

Everything you need to surf! Yes; Surf board, rash vest, wet suit, sun cream and wax are all included. I would just suggest you bring a bottle of water and a towel .

Surf lessons are held on long beach at Robe, South Australia (see map below). Depending on the wave size either at ‘2nd ramp’ Long Beach, located at the Southern end of long beach. You will see the flags and boards set up soon as you drive onto long beach veer right and you cant miss me. Car aces by 2 wheel drive is fine year round.

If there is a smaller swell, common in January, lessons are held at 3rd ramp, long beach, Robe (see map below). This is simply 3km further around long beach from 2nd ramp. You have 2 options to get to 3rd ramp, either simply veer right as you drive onto long beach and simply keep driving along the beach about 3km and you cant miss me. Or if you prefer not to take your car on the beach head out of Robe, turn left onto the Southern Ports High Way, heading towards Kingston/Adelaide direction. 5km out of Robe turn left again onto ‘Steve Woolstone Road’ (there is a big wooden sign saying ‘Long Beach, Surfing’) drive 2km to the end of this road and you will be at 3rd ramp looking over the ocean
(see map below).

The ocean is a forever changing environment, therefore when booking I will confirm exact location for the lesson going on current conditions.
